Metaposts: Blogging about Blog Posts

As circumstances and the current airlines debacle seem to have conspired to keep me in Austin instead of in Louisville, blogging about conference sessions I would have attended, Cathy Stanton suggested that I might serve as a virtual attendee to both the NCPH Annual Conference and the 2008 Public History Conference in Liverpool. If this blog is supposed to be "an electronic third space between the two concurrent conferences," then perhaps as a third blogger, from the third world, living in a town that likes to refer to itself (pompously and unimaginatively) as the third coast, I might be well placed to perform such a task. So I will be right here, trying to make some humble connections between the already-scintillating posts on this blog and Liverpool's.

This is a great idea. I think that the blog for the conference needs to become a space not only for folks at the conference to continue dialogues, but for other folks who might be interested to also join the conversation.

I must say that I am quite impressed with the blogs and think that it is a great idea.

We just need to get more folks talking!
